Heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller failed a drug test and was pulled from his July 9 fight against Jerry Forrest in Las Vegas.
“We are aware of the situation. He will be placed on temporary suspension on Monday morning by the Nevada State Athletic Commission,” Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN on Saturday.
The Athletic reported that Miller, 31, tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
Next month’s ESPN headline bout against Forrest at the MGM Grand Conference Center would have been the first fight for Miller (23-0-1, 20 knockouts) since November 2018.
In 2019, Miller failed three different drug tests and lost an opportunity to face unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden, a potential $5 million payday. He tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs at the time.
