Candy Cane

Since the past century, candy canes have become synonyms with the Christmas traditions. Many people decorate candy canes on the Christmas tree, but I usually avoid it.

Once when I did it, my entire family fought over those candy canes and bought the entire Christmas tree down. They just have to have them. Once, when I offered candy canes to some guests on a Christmas night, there was a small boy who asked me what it was! So, here’s what I explained him..

A hard cane-shaped candy stick is known as a candy cane. Candy cane is a delicious sweet candy and sometimes minty. By tradition, it is white and red stripes with cinnamon or peppermint flavor, but it may also be adorned with stripes of dissimilar colors and prepared in a variety of flavors. A candy cane is all the rage throughout the year, but is more popular during the Christmas holiday.

A candy cane in its early form began as a simple white stick of sugar for children to enjoy. Eventually, it was made in the shape of the letter “J”, symbolizing Jesus and their colors: red standing for the blood of Christ and white for purity. The stripes represented the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is believed that it was created as a delightful treat for children who behaved well in church.

The “hook” shape of the candy cane is hanged on the branches of the Christmas trees and a single tree can have multiple candy canes.
