Celebrate every occasion with these - Festive Candies

One of the reasons that make candies such a great treat is that you don’t need any occasion or pretence to have it. Whenever you feel like, you can just grab a handful and have it.

But there are some occasions which call for special candies and there are some candies which can be coupled with some special occasions. These are the candies that constitute the theme of festive candies.

Halloween Candy: For kids, Halloween is one of the biggest festivals for candies. The age old tradition of ‘trick or treat’ is still fun and popular with kids where they go door to door asking for candies. When mischief is in the air, candies can hardly be left out from it. There is an extensive variety of mischievous candies available for this occasion which can range from crazy to outright creepy. As fun, kids can get crazy candies like Dum Dum Pops, BeanBoozled or even Twilight themed candies. So don’t be shocked if you hear kids saying, “Hey I just bit into Edward, tastes like caramel” or “I took a chunk of Bella, it’s creamy”.

It can get even crazier, so much so that it’s creepy. They do have some of the grossest candies for this festival. You can have Candy Blood Bags which are available in human and zombie blood flavors and come in authentic looking blood bags. These candies, along with candies like Electric Eel, Pee Candy and the popular Hotlix insect candy and candy corn can make for a great theme at Halloween parties.

Christmas Candy: Considered as an important festival of the year, to kids, Christmas is mostly about gifts and of course, candies. From the candy canes hanging of the Christmas tree to the whirl candy lollipops in the stockings, all the candies around this festive time bring smiles and joy to children. After all these years, the classic candy cane which hangs on the tree is still a Christmas favorite accompanied by the chocolate jingle bells and candy stars which also come in silver and gold wrappings.

Then there are candies which families make together as a Christmas tradition which include, candy canes, Turkish delights, candy mints, chocolate covered cherries and even caramel apples. And then there are new candies like Sour Gummi Santas, Cinnamon Santas, Candy Cane Jelly Belly and many others. Generally the ‘stocking stuffers’ are chocolates, jewelry candy, lollipops, candy canes, coal candy etc. But a more recent tradition in the making is of stuffing the stockings with novelty or slightly crazy candies like the Pop Rocks candies or the Hotlix ones.

Valentine’s Day Candy: Since Richard Cadbury introduced the first candy box, gifting candy boxes on occasions have become one of the traditions. Probably the most popular amongst these occasions is the Valentine’s Day. Candies are one of the perfect ways to say ‘I love you’, even if it is being conveyed for the first time. A simple heart (shaped) candy, with the letters ‘Be Mine’ on a Valentine’s Day can do the trick or you can please your loved one with a finely selected gourmet chocolate box which is usually available in heart shape. After all, sometimes chocolate is synonymous with romance. Sweethearts, Conversation hearts, red or pink and white jelly beans all can be great Valentine’s Day candies.

Birthday Candies: Birthdays are special and candies can add that extra sweetness to birthdays. For the kids, a birthday party theme planned around candies can make an excellent and memorable event. The candy Piñatas especially add great thrill and joy for kids as they go hitting the piñata till it breaks and flood them with candies. Almost all types of candies go well with birthdays. Hard candies come in lots of colors and one can choose specific colors for a color theme. Also assorted candy bags with popular candies like Kit Kat, Snickers, M&Ms, Skittles, and Jelly Belly Jelly Beans can make for great return gifts.

Wedding Candies: Weddings are a thrifty affair and need immaculate planning; even right down to the wedding candy. Having the right candy for or at the wedding is very essential as it complements the wedding favors as well as the wedding theme. Colors of candies can match the dresses of bridesmaids or they can be coupled with the wedding decorations and many other combinations. The candies can accentuate the cuisine and make for a pleasant delicacy for the guests. There is a wide variety of candies that you can choose from, depending, on the color and flavor. As hard candies are available in various colors and shapes, they can make an excellent choice. Also Jelly Belly Jelly Beans can be ordered of specific color or flavor for the theme and there are many commercial chocolate and gourmet chocolates that you can choose from.

Easter Candies: Easter for kids and candy lovers can be all about munching on the wide variety of chocolate eggs and digging their teeth in the chocolate bunny. There are also a vast variety of non-chocolate egg shaped candies like Hershey’s Marshmallow Eggs, Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, and Spring Swirly Lollipops that can add fun and frolic to the festival.

Candies can add flavor to almost every occasion and hence you can get candies for other occasions like Thanksgiving, Father’s day, Mother’s day, Corporate days and many more. And the best thing is that at any given time, there is at least one candy available to satisfy the tingling of a festive palate.
